MBH: “Do you want to go to the Social Distortion concert tonight?” (this is his favorite band in the world)

K: “I don’t know, kind of tired, don’t really feel like it.” etc. etc.

MBH: “But you said you would go last week.”

(LIGHTBULB!!!!)

K: “Tell you what. I will go tonight if you will go paddleboarding on Sunday morning with me.” (I had already made the reservation, but hadn’t told him yet…)

MBH: “Deal. But you can’t ‘get tired’ or want to leave early from the concert.”

K: “Then you can’t complain about waking up early AND you must wear sunscreen on Sunday.”

MBH: “Agreed.”

K: “Agreed.”
