Start with an adorable dog or baby.

Add a dash of classic children’s tales.

And a little bit of Disney.

I didn’t always love Halloween, but once our beloved dog and son joined our lives, it has become one of my favorite holidays. Every year, I love coming up with costumes for my family, each one better than the last.

I’m in the ‘create your costume’ camp; I think they are more darling when there’s a touch of the homemade about the costumes. When I was a little girl, I always rewore my dance recital costumes and went as an ice skater.

I have a few tricks up my sleeve for my son & I this year – a work party, a Halloween 10K, a fun party Friday night, and actual Halloween!
