Kate is a freelance writer whose essays and reported pieces have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, TODAY, POPSugar, and SavvyTokyo, among others. Her writing for SavvyTokyo on parenting in Japan was among the most popular in the site’s history.

She currently lives in Coastal Virginia with her family. You can find them hiking through the woods of the #DMV every Tuesday with the Free Forest School, exploring a new museum every Thursday, and she loves learning about new events, travels, and opportunities for families.
